A new wallpaper

I know you’re not used to wallpaper-related posts from me, but I too have to express myself artistically sometimes. Unlike when I’m expressing my musical talents, that you’re not able to benefit from, when I decide to make some /visual/ art, you are.

I’ve received a couple of requests to post the wallpaper seen in the Lancelot 1.7 screencast, and I decided to comply.

  1. Nice wallpaper :)

Well, I too consider myself somewhat artistic when it comes to stuff like these.. But am I going too ‘flower minded’ ? (is this even a real word? :P )

Here’s how my desktop looks now..

Although, I often set abstract or glassy images, like the one in this blog post of mine: http://blog.sayakbanerjee.com/?p=271 — although I end up having something or the other which has a bunch of flowers.. *sigh*

  2. @Sayak Banerjee: Heh, I know the feeling. I’ve passed my flower obsession a few years ago. Now I like simple wallpapers, without many colours (so that I could see all the applets on the desktop without using Oxygen theme :) )

  5. Your Desktop (including the wallpaper) in the video really looked nice – until you threw some real windows in. It really sucks that the windows theme does not fit in any case to the Plasma themes… (Sorry to exploit this post for the rant :)

  6. @Peter: TBH, I like the fact that the windows are bright while plasma is not. Simply because it visually separates the two worlds.

  7. Sayak, mate, bunch of flowers and Backstreet Boys on a same screenshot. I’d be very careful :p

Ivane, lep je wall, samo me asocira na windows, pa se plasim da ga ne bih mogao da postavim na desktop :)
(for english speaking readers: The wallpaper is nice, but it reminds me all too much of windows…)

  8. @Nenadsuperzmaj: Well, since you already translated the comment into English, there really was no point it retaining the original – I am also an English speaking reader :)

As for the comment itself, I’d understand if it reminded you of Mac since they also have these spacy walls, but it has no resemblance to any win wall I’ve seen. (mind that I haven’t really seen what windows looks like for a couple of years now – except for the occasional screenshot)

  9. It’s the four colors that swing it, I’d say…

Or it’s just a bit of paranoia :p

  10. @Nenadsuperzmaj: Then, I should make a black and white version? :D
